Before you begin this experience, they would like to share theirs…
Juliana Salles | Brazilian

Juliana is a graduate of the Master in Market Research & Consumer Behavior class of 2016. Originally from Brazil, Juliana has a Bachelor in Communication with focus on Marketing and Advertising. She is a complete enthusiast for Market Research with almost 5 years of experience working for the largest Market Research firms like Nielsen, GfK, and Kantar/TNS. Currently working for Philip Morris International as a Market Research Specialist in Madrid.

“Combined with my previous years of experience, studying at IE provided me not only further MRCB knowledge, but also prepared me for real life situations due to the hands-on projects with actual companies. Working together with classmates from other cultures allowed me to grow as an individual and to be better prepared when dealing with adversity. The daily contact with experienced professors helped me to create network and define what type of professional I wanted to become.”

Pablo Carvajal | Spanish

Pablo graduated from the Master in Corporate Communication in 2015. He always had a soft spot for entertainment and communication, and when he found his Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Market Research wasn’t enough, he looked for a way of strengthening his knowledge about communication and preparing for the job market, and found the MCC. After the master he found the amazing opportunity of working for Apple, where he enjoys being on the business side of the entertainment industry. In his free time, he likes making music, being up to date with the best TV Shows, and going to the theatre.

“When I look back at the MCC, it’s not about how much I learnt about communication, how many great connections and networking opportunities I had, or how amazing and exciting the city of Madrid is, it’s the ability of working in high-performing and diverse teams I acquired that I find most valuable.”

Clarissa Watson | Canadian

Clarissa graduated from the Master in Visual and Digital Media program in 2016. After working in international trade and digital marketing in Mexico, Clarissa followed her passion for linguistics into a role as a copywriter in McCANN Canada. It was then she discovered her need to develop skills in design and conceptualization within digital media and why she chose the MVDM. Clarissa is currently the Head of Marketing at Alto Data Analytics.

“The MVDM gave me the skills and critical-thinking to propel my career. Combining management with creativity, meant I was able to freely express my ideas, while at the same time honing my managerial skills. Today more than ever through digital media, people and brands speak a visual language and this program helped me to find a career within that context.”

Jacqueline Williams | American

Jacqueline is the IE Fellow Scholarship Recipient for the Master in International Relations program and one of two Class Representatives for the October intake 2016-2017. She is currently involved with IE’s Net Impact Club, The International Relations Club, The Women in Business Club as well as the IE Yoga Club. After working for a number of NGO’s “in the field” and in Washington D.C., Jacqueline realized that the IE MIR Program was the perfect fit for her in order to retreat from the administrative side of development and focus more on “hands on” humanitarian aid work in the developing world.

“The dynamic IE Master in International Relations Program is the perfect balance between theoretical and practical experience. I’ve learned just as much from the vibrant professors as I have from my fellow students who bring a multinational perspective to the classroom. In addition, the MIR Program is unique in that it offers its students the opportunity to choose between writing a thesis (for those looking to pursue further education), or the chance to work with renowned international organizations through exciting capstone and social entrepreneurship projects.”

“IE is perfect for the kind of student that comes here with a very clear vision of her or his career path. IE however is equally perfect for the misfits, or the career rebels who have the ambition to risk a lot at a very young age and create their path either by building their own startups or creating their own careers.”

Bethany Lauri Orense | Philippine

Beth is a Marketing Analytics professional who is currently on study leave to pursue the Master in Business Analytics and Big Data (MBD) program. We are 70 students, representing 36 different countries and one goal: to become successful in Data Science and Analytics professionals carrying the highly-esteemed IE character. The program clearly aims to produce well-rounded graduates with its mixture of technical, business and leadership courses. To sum up, the classroom is full of cultural diversity, the program is intense and the campus is in the sunny and beautiful Madrid!”

Mauro Rafaelli Castilhos | Brazilian

Mauro was part of the 2014-2015 Master in Management class with past professional experience in the field of engineering and energy, project management and management of customer relationships. He also has some experience abroad (China, USA, England). He has been working in IBM Spain as a business consultant for more than a year in several projects of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT).

“IE and the MIM were more than good classes and amazing professors teaching how to follow rules. It was an experience of learning and exchanging experiences with professors and a multicultural group of classmates and friends. We learned what really matters to stand out in our constantly changing world.”

Mariana Botero | Colombian

Mariana is a creative Colombian living in Madrid with an international background in art and architecture. She pursued her higher education in the United States at Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a Bachelor in Architecture and a Bachelor in Fine Arts. She finished her Master in Design for Work, Learning and Retail Environments at IE School of Architecture in March 2017. Prior to joining IE, she was the Creative Director of a Colombian Investment firm focused on luxury hospitality in Colombia and had experience in art management in New York, Miami and Cartagena. She is fluent in 4 languages.

“The MDE at IE has been an incredible experience both academically and personally. The blended program allowed me to enjoy both Madrid and London whilst also meeting extraordinary professors and students from varying cultures. We had a holistic overview of the three sectors that have been most affected by the Internet and how these changes affect the psychology of spaces. My approach to design is now much more comprehensive and eloquent. As I was learning from my colleagues’ diverse backgrounds, I was also making friends for life.”

Ricardo Benitez | Puerto.Rican

Ricardo is a Dual Degree IMBA & LL.M. International Business Law student from Puerto Rico who will be graduating in summer of 2017. With several years of combined experience as a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) and as a licensed attorney, he aims at achieving a career path that will allow him to combine this knowledge in a way that will permit him to proactively assist his clients and create a positive impact throughout the international business world. Having fallen in love with Madrid, he has high hopes that this is where his dream may become a reality..

“When I discovered IE’s Dual Degree in IMBA & LLM International Business Law I knew my search was over. Everywhere I looked and everyone I met confirmed that IE would offer me the complete international experience I was desiring and the opportunity to grow completely outside of my comfort zone. Having the opportunity to work side by side with top tier professionals from around the world was without a doubt, on its own, enough to make this experience worth it. Being exposed to different cultures, different backgrounds, and different points of view (and having to find a middle ground between all of this to get a presentation done in two or three days!) has allowed me, without a doubt, to grow into a capable leader ready to take on today’s globally interconnected business market and society.”
